How do I take a good photo
Stand back so the whole room fits in the frame, and take one or two shots per room rather than close-ups of individual pieces. Even light helps. Direct sun across the floor and hard shadows can hide where one thing ends and the next begins. If a wardrobe or cabinet is mirrored or high-gloss, take a second shot from another angle, because a reflection can read as another room.
The full photo guideWhat might the estimate miss
Anything out of shot: closed wardrobes, the garage, under the bed, or a room you didn't photograph. It also can't tell what's inside a box, how heavy something is, or whether there are stairs and how far the truck can park. When it doesn't have enough to go on it says so rather than guessing, and we sort it out when we follow up.
What else photos can missHow is the price worked out
The price is time, and nothing else. Labour hours plus the drive between the two addresses, at $160 an hour for the 4.5 tonne truck or $220 an hour for the 8 tonne, both including the truck and two movers. Four hour minimum. No call-out fee, no charge for stairs, and lunch breaks aren't billed.

It's a considered ballpark from what's in your photos, not a fixed quote. The itemised list shows exactly what it counted, so you can see what it's based on. Billy checks it against the details when he follows up, and that call is where the actual price is settled.
What can change the estimateWhat if there are stairs or a long carry
Stairs and a long carry don't cost extra, but they do take longer, and the price is time. The photos can't show us the walk from your door to the truck, so mention it when we follow up and we'll factor it in.
Which access details to mentionWhat if I'm only moving one or two items
The app is built for whole rooms and houses moving locally, so a single item or a long-distance move is better handled with a quick call. Ring us and we'll price it directly.

Your moving estimate is a range. There are a few things we can't tell from your photos, and these help decide where you land in this price range. Some bring the price down as well as up, so Billy Moves will confirm the exact figure on a quick call.
- Access and parking: A clear run from the truck to the door keeps things quick. A long carry or tight street access adds time, as your photos can't show this.
- Lift or stairs: A lift or a ground floor move is faster and can come in cheaper. Several flights of stairs will add time.
- Assembly and disassembly: Beds, wardrobes and flat-pack furniture that need taking apart and rebuilding add time to the job.
- Heavy or awkward items: Pianos, safes and large appliances can need extra care or an extra pair of hands.
