Privacy & Terms

Plain answers about what Snap-a-Quote does with your information, and the terms behind your instant estimate.

Last updated: August 2026

The short version: we're removalists, not data collectors. Nobody at Billy Moves or Snap-a-Quote looks at your photos, we don't keep a copy, we only ever ask for your suburb, and a real person from Billy Moves confirms your price by phone.

1 Your privacy

Snap-a-Quote is built to give you a fast moving estimate without hoovering up your personal information. Here is exactly what happens to anything you share.

Your photos

When you photograph your rooms, the images are sent straight to our AI provider, which reads them automatically to identify your furniture, estimate volume, and work out your moving estimate. Two things worth knowing:

Our AI provider (Anthropic, the maker of Claude) processes the images only to return that result. They don't use your photos to train their AI, and they don't retain them long-term. You can read their data-retention policy here.

Your location

We ask for your suburb only, the suburb you are moving from and the one you are moving to. We never ask for your street address, and the tool does not request or use your device's GPS location.

Your contact details

Your name, email and mobile number are only collected if you choose to fill in the form to have your estimate sent to you. If you do, we use those details for two things only:

That's it. Your details are not added to any ongoing marketing list and you won't be signed up to newsletters or repeat mail-outs. Moving is a one-off job, and we treat your information that way.

Who handles your information

Snap-a-Quote is operated by Brian Osborne, who owns the tool. When you submit the form, your details are received and then shared with Billy Moves, the removalist business, so they can follow up about your move. Billy Moves is the business that will actually contact you and carry out any removal.

Anonymous analytics

We keep general, anonymous statistics about how the tool is used, for example which suburbs and routes are busy and what home sizes people are moving. This helps us improve the tool and understand the local moving market. This information is completely anonymous. It never includes your name, email or phone number, and it is kept separate from the details you give on the form.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@snapaquote.com.au and we'll come back to you within 30 days.

Two things worth knowing before you ask:

We don't charge for any of this.

If you're not happy with how we've handled it

Tell us first, at hello@snapaquote.com.au, and we'll try to sort it out. If you're still not satisfied, you can take a privacy complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

In short: personal details you give on the form are used only to serve your move. The anonymous statistics are just patterns, with nothing that identifies you.

2 About your estimate (disclaimer)

Snap-a-Quote gives you a fast, helpful starting point. It is important you know what that estimate is, and what it isn't.

It's an estimate, not a quote

The price you see is an AI-generated estimate worked out from the photos you provide. It is a guide to help you plan, not a fixed quote and not a contract. No agreement to move you is formed by using this tool or by receiving an estimate.

The software is still improving

Snap-a-Quote uses AI to read your photos, and while it is good, it isn't perfect. It can misjudge furniture, volume or access, or miss things that aren't visible in a photo, so the final price may differ from the estimate. The software is being improved all the time, and where bugs come up we fix them as quickly as we can.

A real person checks every estimate

This is the important part. Every estimate is followed up by Billy Moves, who confirm the details with you by phone. If anything looks off, if the photos didn't tell the full story, or the estimate doesn't quite match your move, it gets picked up and sorted in that conversation. You are never left relying on a number from a machine.

The confirmed price and any agreement come only from your direct conversation with Billy Moves. That call is where the real quote is settled.

Who does the actual move

Snap-a-Quote provides the estimate. Billy Moves, not Snap-a-Quote, carries out the removal work, and any move is arranged directly with Billy Moves and subject to their own terms. Snap-a-Quote is a tool that helps you get a starting price; it doesn't perform the move itself.

General guidance only

This tool provides a rough moving-cost guide. It isn't professional, legal or financial advice. Your estimate assumes loose items such as clothes, books and kitchen goods are packed into boxes by you before the move.

3 Using Snap-a-Quote

Snap-a-Quote is built for one thing: photographing your rooms, belongings and furniture so the AI can estimate your move. Please only use it for that.

What to photograph

Photos of your rooms and the household items you want moved: furniture, boxes, appliances and the like. That's all the tool needs, and it's all it's for.

What's not allowed

Please don't upload anything unlawful, explicit, offensive or otherwise inappropriate. This tool is only for photos of rooms and household belongings being moved, and any other kind of image has no place here.

If content is uploaded that breaks these rules, we may decline or stop your estimate, and where the law requires it, unlawful material may be reported to the relevant authorities. You are responsible for what you choose to upload.
